A quick road trip! In order to continue working as a paramedic, one must keep up with the ever changing practice of medicine. We took a short and quick trip down to central Oregon to participate in a Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Saving (PHTLS) course. The drive was uneventful and in the dark. But the view from our hotel in the morning was glorious. We took a quick stroll to stretch out before having to be in a classroom for 8 hours. I'm not sure what this tree is, but they are all over the place here.   Gorgeous, vibrant blooms! And during the lunch time stroll I came across these beauties. The bright colors just draw me to them! After (successfully!) completing our class, we enjoyed some of the backroads for our drive back home. We came across this phenomenon called murmuration. Absolutely fascinating!       It's mesmerizing to watch. And then, of course, we saw some mountains. Still snow covered and always majestic. Mount Hood Mount Saint Helen Get out, enjo...

Spring keeps getting better and brighter around the Pacific Northwest! City walks after work help to wind down from the day. The sights are amazing here. An early walk in the warm, bright sunshine. I've been working a lot at the new job. I'm still loving it! A splurge lunch at work. I'm not much of a fast food kind of person but every once in a while it's fun. I thought the mini fries were cute. Making new friends on the train home. There is no correlation between my earlier lunch and this sweet girl liking me..... Toward the end of the week we had a Summit Conference for work. It was to discuss near future work goals for all Inflight supervisors, propose ideas and ask lots of questions. Of course food was involved! This charcuterie board took up the entire table! Lunch time taco salad and then ice cream. This is (most of) my amazing work group in Seattle. Have I said how much I love my workplace?!?! An evening walk to get some fresh air. The city is beautiful in any l...
A really quick week here! I'm not sure where the time goes....  Spring brings all kinds of new. At work, the catering department showcased the new seasonal change menu for our flights. They work so hard to come up with tasty meals that can be re-heated in a tiny oven 30,000 feet above the Earth. My latest kitchen activities have lead to my new favorite treat. Dehydrated snacks! Apple slices.... Grapes.... also know as RAISINS! These are from red grapes. I also did some green grapes but ate all of them before I remembered to take a picture.... oops. Banana spears.  My plan is to try peaches, pears and pretty much any other fruit I love. The weather this week has been magnificent! Sunshine and longer daylight allows me to get out and walk about town. Seattle has some pretty interesting regular city utility pieces. The flowers are starting to peak out as well. I can't wait until they are out in full bloom. These are some of the cherry blossoms just outside my condo. This is...
Another busy week in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. The weather started out cold and wet.  This usually makes me want to make comfort foods! I'm still working on clearing out the freezer, pantry and cabinets so it was a great week for cozy, warm soups. Chicken and rice soup with a sprinkling of parmesan cheese. A traditional beef stew and French bread. Creamy tomato bisque And finally, sweet and sour glass noodle soup with peanuts. Since I'm working days, I commute before the sun is up.  There's a lot of new construction going on in our area.  This was my view as I stepped out the back door of my condo complex. At least the building is behind me and won't block my view. This is just one of many festive staircases in the park I wank through to get to the light rail station. This artwork just outside one of the light rail stops is HUGE! There was plenty of celebrating going on at the office.... A couple of birthdays means lunch and (of course!) cake. A record sick fligh...
